Unsuccessfully installing Ubuntu 18.04 under legacy booting mode

0

The laptop to install Ubuntu 18.04 is originally dual system with windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04. There are two hard disks(ssd + hdd), and the bootloader of win is in the ssd.

First time installing Ubuntu I chose the installing Ubuntu 18.04 with replacing Ubuntu 14.04 option, and after restarting system, a Ubuntu grub2 bootloader menu could be seen, however when choosing windows option, the screen showed that

BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot.

so fix the problem and next I mounted the ubuntu bootloader in a specific partition(/boot) divided from HDD or SSD (both I have tried), and used EasyBCD to boot Ubuntu. But after selecting Ubuntu option in the windows bootloader menu, the system just restarted again and became black screen while printing:

GRUB4DOS 0.4.5c 2014-01-17, Mem: 622K/1592M/6464M, End: 356539

[ Minimal Bash-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB
lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists the possible
completions of a device/filename. ]
grub>

I don't know why ubuntu grub bootloader was broken. I've considered using live Ubuntu to fix the grub, but jammed in the panel of try Ubuntu, perhaps because the graphics card driver has problem which I met first time installing.

Any help would be appreciated.
