xmodmap Help with configuring Alt key to work in other programs with i3

0

I've modified xmodmap such that mod1 only contains Alt_L and Meta_L and I've added Alt_R to mod3.

I want to use my right alt key in programs such as Google Chrome for shortcuts, however it doesn't seem to work by default. Is there anything else I need to do after this point?
