Kubuntu 18.10 problems with wifi connection
I'm not able to connect to a wifi network on this distro and can't find the cause.
Wifi driver: iwlwifi
What happens at fresh install:
- Wifi networks are being detected, altough they sometimes disappear after tinkering with settings
- When I try to connect to a network the password dialog continues to show again after some seconds
- It turns out that by default all wifi connections are set to infrastructure mode. Changing it to "access point" solves the password dialog loop
- After changing the mode the connection moves on but sticks on "Setting network address", then gives up after a while.
Setting manual IP is not what I prefer because I don't want the hassle to set it for every network connection when it's supposed to work normally. But I accept having it working at least at home.
Using manual ip it connects but there's no traffic.
The IP configurations is:
Dns Server 1.1.1.1

Address: 192.168.1.110
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.254
