Unable to connect to HDMI on Ubuntu 18.04

I am unable to connect my laptop with external monitor while running Ubuntu 18.04. It works fine with Windows.

but it outputs (after running the second command)



xrandr: cannot find mode 1920x1080


Please suggest a work around for this issue.
