Changing DPI on headless server
I run Xming and Putty. I just got a 3840x2160 monitor. I would like to change scaling of apps run on the Ubuntu server that appear on my Windows desktop. I changed Xming to let it handle the scaling, because everything was blurry. Now it is tiny. If I run 'xrandr' I get:
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 3840 x 2160, current 3840 x 2160, maximum 3840 x 2160
default connected 3840x2160+0+0 0mm x 0mm
3840x2160 0.00*
If I try to run 'xrandr --output default --scale 1.25x1.25' like I saw as an example elsewhere, I get:
X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 146 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 25 (RRGetScreenResourcesCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 11
Current serial number in output stream: 11
No idea.
