Raspberry Pi 3 Running Minibian: No Space Left on Device; free shows otherwise
When I type "free" in Minibian, I get the following:
root@minibian:~# free
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 996776 138916 857860 6764 10284 85764
-/+ buffers/cache: 42868 953908
Swap: 0 0 0
But attempting to install raspi-config, some of the packages seem to not install with "Failed to Write (No space left on device)". I wouldn't think it'd require the 953MB that are available.
I like that my first attempt to free up space results in not enough space for the tool to easily do so.
Help a noob out.
Thanks,
Toby

Possible off-topic question. Minibian is not Ubuntu, nor an official flavor of Ubuntu thus off-topic on this site. Please refer askubuntu.com/help/on-topic.free
reports on memory (ram); not disk space. Your error message is talking about storage, not ram.

Try using df
instead of free
. df
will report the available disk space (which is what your error is referring to), while free reports the amount of free RAM.
I'm guessing you probably created the sd without resizing your root partition.
