I keep seeing the instructions as to accessing windows from Ubuntu, but I can't find any of the things mentioned. The system files Fat 32 or NTFS are either not there or I am looking in all the wrong places. There seems to be no guide with step by step photos or screen shots of where to go and what to do and I am so irritated that I honestly just want to remove Ubuntu at this point. Can I do that? Is there a way to just remove it and go back to what I had a few hours ago? Am I stuck with Ubuntu? Seriously pulling my hair out here.

First of, please dont stress out. It is not worth the nerves. Second, open file manager and let us know what you see in the left side panel. Alternatively in terminal do 'lsblk --fs'

  • WHERE do I find the file manager? I see a little file cabinet that says "files" but I can't find anything in it. The panel says: Home Desktop Documents Downloads Music Pictures Videos Trash Other Locations Hope this helps give you an idea.

  • Yes, that is the right place. Do you see anything in other locations ?

  • : Computer 459.6GB/490.2 available and below that is Windows Network. When I click that it says "Unable to access location".

@Sarah In that case, bad news. There is no windows data on disk anymore. Likely during installation when you were selecting options, it is possible arrow keys switched it to Errase All. There is a guide on recovering data askubuntu.com/q/286181/295286 for such cases. I would suggest seeking help of a competent IT friend if you dont feel comfortable attempting the rescue. I will post this as an answer later instead of a comment but that is the basic gist of the situation based on what I see through the troibleshooting we did
