Shared folder not showing up in /mnt/hgfs on ubuntu 18.04 LTS as guest and windows 10 Pro as host OS

0

I am using these below versions

  1. VMWare Workstation 15 Player

  2. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS as guest os

  3. Windows 10 Pro as Host os

  4. vmware-tools-cmd version (10.3.0.5330 (build-8931395))

I have created the shared folder in VMWare options in GUI.
Powered on my Ubuntu Guest. But there was not hgfs under /mnt.
So I used the command below

sudo mount -t fuse.vmhgfs-fuse .host:/ /mnt/hgfs
after this my shared folder appeared under /mnt/hgfs but can't cd into my shared folder.
I restarted the VM. But now I can't find my shared folder under /mnt/hgfs.

Can anybody please provide complete steps how to debug this issue and a solution for this?
