networking - ubuntu 14 adding an ipv6 block error

0

Hi i bought a server from linode, i installed ubuntu 14 lts and got an ipv6 block from them.
Now the problem is i am unable to add that block to my networking config.
I followed their guides from static ip configuration
Basically i disabled their network autoconfig, edited interfaces for hours and cant fix it.
Their servers are unmanaged and as such i cant request support for help.

Now to my error when i restart and login i get:

  • Stopping log initial device creation [ OK ]

    • Starting configure network device [fail]

    • Stopping configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Stopping configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Stopping configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Stopping configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Stopping configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Starting configure network device [fail]

    • Starting Signal sysvinit that local filesystems are mounted [ OK ]

    • Starting configure network device security [ OK ]

    • Starting configure virtual network devices [fail]
      ...

This is my /etc/network/interfaces config file:

iface eth0 inet static
address 162.xxx.xxx.xxx/24
gateway 162.xxx.xxx.1
# Add DNS resolvers for resolvconf. Can mix IPv4 and IPv6.
dns-nameservers xxx.xxx.xxx.x
dns-search members.linode.com
dns-options rotate
# IPv6 gateway and primary address.
iface eth0 inet6 static
2600:xxxx::xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx/64
gateway fe80::1
# Add a second IPv6 address.
iface eth0 inet6 static
address 2600:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::2/64
#address 2600:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx::3/64
