CUPS+Gutenprint not working since 18.04 update
I have an Epson Workforce 645 printer. I was trying to print yesterday and the printer would not even attempt to print. The job shows as "stopped" in the queue. In the printer properties page it shows idle - filter failed.
This problem sounds a lot like: Printer "Filter failed"
However, I tried their solution and it did not work. Every commentor on that page said the solution worked for them.
That link has in its solution:
sudo rmdir /usr/share/ghostscript/9.25/iccprofiles
However, I have version 9.26 not 9.25, and when I try to update the command to use 9.26, I receive a message that it is not a directory, so I used rm instead of rmdir.
I have noticed that I can still print test pages. I also attempted to use other drivers including the official one from Epson. They were able to print, but the quality was garbage.
