How to import a custom function file in C (gcc)

0

I tried to import a c file with the help of a header. my code goes as follows:

#ifndef MYFUNCTIONS_H
#define MYFUNCTIONS_H
#endif
#include <stdio.h>

int square(int a);
//my header

my custom function file is:

#include "myfunctions.h"

int square(int a)
{
return a*a;
}

and my main function file:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdbool.h>
#include "myfunctions.h"

int main()
{
printf("%d", square(5));
}

my gcc is giving me "Unidentified reference to square" even though this works perfectly fine in windows.
