Find out drive designation for umount

0

I plan to add a partition to the external drive using the filesystem exfat to find out if Mint would grant me user rights. The external drive's designation cannot be found in /media/username. Gparted won't work if the drive is mounted. How do I find out the drive's designation so I can use umount?
