Hotspot connected but no internet on only my MacBook

So I've been using Optimum hotspot for a while, and all of sudden, it started losing internet connection (it says Wifi is connected, but no internet), and now somehow it is fully gone. I have another laptop, and the hotspot is working just fine.

Also, I can still connect my Mac to my personal hotspot (on my phone), so it seems like my MacBook is not able to connect to Optimum hotspot.

I tried to reboot, clear proxy server and things.. but nothing seems working.
I've been watching movies and shows online, and it always had crazy popups and kept downloading things, but I always just closed and deleted whatever was downloaded. Could these be the problems?

Please help!

Possible off-topic question. You haven't said what release of Ubuntu you are using on your MacBook, or if you are even running Ubuntu or an official flavor of Ubuntu, which are the only OSes supported by this site. askubuntu.com/help/on-topic
