How To Add A User Photo to the login screen of Ubuntu MATE 18.04

0

Please provide a tutorial for adding a photo to the user login screen.
The current article is outdated for and for 14.04. Add account picture to Ubuntu login/greeting screen

I am running Ubuntu MATE 18.04.
I installed

sudo apt install lightdm-gtk-greeter

And then I do not know what to do next because etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d folder is empty and I don't know what to do after that.

  • If you look at the comments of the solution, you will see an upvoted comment "lightdm.conf.d folder is empty. what to do ?" btw: I am running ubuntu mate 18.04

  • I believe that's an important piece of info (using MATE) you forgot to mention before.

  • I will delete this thread soon and then edit the original thread. I just rebooted. Installing lightdm was all I needed to do and the user picture for me showed up automatically.. No need to make an edit to the file.
