How to use part of the OS drive with 2 extras for RAID 3?
I need to create a RAID 3 array for a server. I am running 14.04 LTS. I have 2 500GB drives and one 1TB drive. My issue is as follows. One of the 500GB drives has the OS on it, but I will never use that much storage for the OS, since it is going to be used as a server, most likely without a display hooked up to it. I have partitioned the drive so that the OS partition is only 100GB and there is now 400GB of free space on that drive. My question- Is there a way to use that free space in a RAID array without wiping the OS?
thanks!
