Pulseaudio making glitched sound when switching audio output while using echo cancellation
I am having an issue with pulseaudio and echo cancellation on Kubuntu 18.10. I have used the following settings in my /etc/pulse/default.pa config to provide echo cancellation for my audio devices:
load-module module-echo-cancel use_master_format=1 aec_method=webrtc aec_args="analog_gain_control=0 digital_gain_control=1" source_name=echoCancel_source sink_name=echoCancel_sink
set-default-source echoCancel_source
set-default-sink echoCancel_sink
The echo cancellation works perfectly when using the "Analogue Duplex Output" that provides sound to my headset and receives inputs through my headset's mic. The issue I encounter is that when I switch to the "Digital Stereo" profile, which is a stereo connected via an optical output, and attempt to play sound, I get a very glitched stuttering sound as soon as I attempt to play any audio. The sound continues without any actual music/sound plays until I manually kill pulseaudio. This happens when playing sound using any program. I am unable to switch back to a different audio output until I kill and restart pulseaudio.
I am unsure if the settings that I put in are not compatible with the Digital Stereo profiles or if I need to wrap the settings in some form of check. Any help would be appreciated.
