amdgpu-pro install options error, ubuntu 16.04
I am trying to install amdgpu-pro drivers (amdgpu-pro-17.40-492261) for Bonaire XTX [Radeon R7 260X/360] in ubuntu 16.04. Following How-To Install/Uninstall AMD Radeon™ Software AMDGPU-PRO Driver for Linux, I am trying the command ./amdgpu-pro-install –y getting the following error:
Reading package lists... Done
E: Invalid operation –y
If I omit the -y option, the installation proceeds but ending in well documented login loop error Can't login after installing AMDGPU-PRO 16.60
.
My concrete question is: why I am getting the error with option -y? Is this a symptom that I am missing something which prevents a successful installation of amdgpu-pro drivers? I need those drivers to play games in steam which needs vulkan driver. Thanks for your comments.
