Configure Speaker settings in Ubuntu using alsa c library?

I want to implement command line utility such as amixer set "Speaker" unmute using alsamixer c library API.



I posted sample test code on stackoverflow

which I though this page is perfect for this because I am working on Ubuntu with alsa c library.
