I am trying to change the default user when opening ubuntu shell on windows 10

I am trying to change the default directory when I open a shell (ubuntu) on windows 10. What I did was initially working:
Here is what is happening
I have no idea why but now it's basically only echoing the cd command to .bashrc and not actually executing it
