Ubuntu only boots to black screen with text
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ margin-bottom:0;
}
I tried to mount my external hard drive through the terminal. First I tried sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt, but nothing happened. Then sudo chown -R username@username mountpoint. I kept getting invalid user name. Last, I tried sudo chown -R (username) /dev/(devicename). Where device name is I put what I thought was the name for the seagate hard drive. It was under Linux File System. I restarted my laptop thinking maybe something I had already done worked. Now at start up it goes to boot manager. I can either choose Ubuntu or Advanced options for Ubuntu. If I pick the first one it goes to a black screen with /dev/sda2: clean. Then it goes to another black screen and ask for my username and password. When I type that in the screen is still black with information about Ubuntu. I think I need to put a command in but I have no clue what I did to get it to this point. In the Recovery Menu there are a lot things I could do. I don’t know what I’ve done or if I can even fix it without losing everything on my computer. Now that I’m looking a bit closer it says that the Filesystem state is read-only.
