Backup/sync Win10 Ubuntu folder

1

Not so long ago I had a bit of a scare. I have a shared win10 computer with all our photos/videos ect. I found out that someone had accidentally deleted a folder, and as it had happend more than 2 month before, the change had propagated to my online backup.

Luckily I had an old backup, but to avoid a future data-loss, I was thinking a solution along these lines:

Setting up an old computer with Ubuntu server and create a one-way sync folder on the server.

Let the Ubuntu server be responsible for syncing the folder with the win10 folder.

Let the server do some kind of backup, that keeps all changes to the folder on the server.

Any suggestions as to what software are best for these tasks. Does a program exists, that are able to both?

The Server will allways be on, the Win10 computer are only on when needed.
