Custom keyboard shortcuts require logout

0

I'm on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS with unity, and I experience this weird behaviour:

If I create or update a custom keyboard shortcut in the Settings > Keyboard application, then the new/updated shortcut is unavailable until after I logout and then log back in.

Does anyone else experience this? How can I force the system to load my keyboard shortcuts without logging out and in?

  • Not sure it it is standard on Unity, but just confirming that it is not standard on both gnome and xfce4 desktops.
