Node.js does not depend on Python. To install the node snap package open the terminal and type:

sudo snap install node --classic --channel 11/stable

python-node is a Node.js script runner for Python. To install python-node open the terminal and type:

sudo apt install python3-pip
sudo pip3 install python-node

Both Node.js and Python can run scripts interactively in a REPL. A read–eval–print loop (REPL), also termed an interactive toplevel or language shell, is a simple, interactive computer programming environment that takes single user inputs (i.e., single expressions), evaluates them, and returns the result to the user.
