I have a small network in my home. There is my desktop pc, my laptop (both running ubuntu 18.04) and a second pc that I use as a file/media server for my movie collection. This pc is running ubuntu 16.04. In all of my pc's I use NEMO as file manager. When I open the Network in the tree I get a Windows Network Folder icon, which when I open it is totally empty, an icon for my Desktop and my laptop but I don't get an Icon for the server PC. When I do the same in the server pc and the laptop I get all three pc's. When I open the Network Folder in the server pc and the laptop there is the Workgroup Folder inside. How can I get my Desktop PC see the Workgroup Folder and the server PC in the network?

  • If you type smb://IP-address-of-the-server-on-the-lan in the address bar of the file manager, does it work? If it does, you can make a shortcut to that. (I don't know NEMO, this works in the file managers I use)
