Icon image for MATLAB from my Desktop launcher suddenly disappeared

0

When I created Desktop Shortcut first, the icon has MATLAB image.

previous icon

But now from desktop that image suddenly gone.

Current Condition

What have I done wrong?

The matlab.desktop file is executable. MATLAB opens & the MATLAB logo shown in the dock, there is no icon in desktop as it was before. I tried rebooting 2/3 times.

The icons of sidebar are ok. But when I copied a .desktop file from /usr/share/application, it is working but icons for the related applications
are not appearing.

  • Did you move the icon, or change its name? Check your .desktop file for where it's looking for its icon. Does double-clicking on the .desktop file still launch the app? Do you have more than one .desktop file?

  • I have one .desktop file for same name (one in Desktop another one is /usr/share/applications)... Matlab icon are in same place according to my script

  • Even in /usr/share/applications the icons are showing properly, problem is in Desktop only

  • Did you recently try to install a different file-manager application?
